^^ An early gift for my Dad for Father's Day.
There's a ceramic/pottery place in Olde Town Arvada where I go every Friday (and Saturday) to paint stuff. This was last week's painting. AND BOY AM I PLEASED WITH HOW IT TURNED OUT. For those who don't know: Ceramic painting is done with special glazes. When one first paints with them, they look vivid, but once they dry on the ceramic, the paint turns into a chalky, dull color. However, once the ceramic is fired in a kiln, the colors come back twice as vivid! Also, when painting with these glazes, I have to use lighter colors first, so I must paint from light to dark. The whole process is rather challenging and has taken many years for me to get this far. This is my best ceramic-painting piece I've done so far. (So everyone in the shop, as well as the owner, told me. lol) Now to go give it to him!  and OMG it's not a WOLF! |
